A dozen youth were recognized on Monday for their contributions to the community. Twenty-four finalists were welcomed over Zoom for the YourTV Cornwall Youth Achievement Awards ceremony, after a year’s hiatus. The awards, run by the Cornwall Optimist Club, usually happen every year and recognize youth from grades 4-12.
Finalists received certificates from both MP Eric Duncan and MPP Jim McDonnell, as well as a brand new tablet, purchased by the Optimist Club. Although YAA is usually an in person event, the finalists were announced in a virtual event, picking up their prizes as the Bud Guillbeault Youth Centre on Friday, June 25th.
