While Canadians from across the country are being squeezed by the cost-of-living crisis, Justin Trudeau and the Liberals have vowed to increase the carbon tax on April 1st.
According to Blacklocks, the Liberals carbon tax hike will be the equivalent of an additional 12 cents per litre of gasoline, creating an even greater price tag on Canadians’ home, heating and gas bills.
Despite previous commitments to cap the carbon tax at $30 per tonne, Justin Trudeau broke his promise and pledged to increase the carbon tax to $170 per tonne by 2030, ensuring Canadians are taxed more and more each year.
We, the undersigned, call upon the federal government to: understand the financial strain Canadians are under by, at the very least, scrapping the April 1st carbon tax hike amidst a cost-of-living crisis, and promise to never increase the carbon tax again.
